The Physician lead Area Medical Director provides strategic leadership, mentorship, and support to our talented team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This role offers a blend of clinical leadership, administrative responsibility, and the opportunity to continue providing direct patient care. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Empower Providers: Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing support and education to physicians and APPs in your region, fostering their professional growth and development. Champion Quality: Lead clinical quality initiatives, including chart reviews, peer-to-peer reviews, and the implementation of best practices. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and care initiatives. Operational Excellence: Partner with operations leadership to communicate key updates and information to providers. Talent Acquisition: Play a key role in the recruitment and hiring of top-tier provider talent, partnering with the Operations and Talent Acquisition teams. Direct Patient Care: Provide patient care in an outpatient setting, which includes minor procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting. Be comfortable with primary care, occupational medicine, and telemedicine. Assist the organization to ensure compliance with all medical board and state regulations associated with the practice of medicine. Serve as EMR liaison in your region as needed. Requirements and Qualifications: MD/DO license (unrestricted) in the state; DEA licensure; Board certification in relevant specialty preferred (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics). Proven healthcare leadership experience with quantifiable achievements (e.g., improved patient satisfaction, reduced wait times). Medical Director/Department Head experience preferred. Deep urgent care expertise, including best practices, operations, and trends. High-volume urgent care and telemedicine experience a plus. Strong business acumen: healthcare finance, budgeting, revenue cycle management. MBA/related education a significant advantage. Quality improvement expertise: leading initiatives, data analysis, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Certification a plus. Demonstrated provider development skills: mentoring, coaching, performance management. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Strong EHR and healthcare technology proficiency. Collaborative, team-oriented approach. Adaptability, resilience, and commitment to ethical practice. #APP
