This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Area Sales Director based in the United States. This leadership role is responsible for driving strategic sales execution across a defined geography with a strong focus on public sector markets, including federal, state, and local government, as well as education and related institutions. You will lead and develop high-performing sales teams, ensuring consistent achievement of revenue targets while aligning go-to-market strategies with complex regulatory and procurement environments. The position plays a critical role in translating enterprise sales strategy into actionable field execution, balancing client needs with organizational goals. You will engage at an executive level with key stakeholders to strengthen long-term partnerships and expand strategic opportunities. This role requires a strong blend of commercial acumen, operational leadership, and public sector expertise. It is ideal for a leader who thrives in matrixed environments and is motivated by building scalable, high-impact sales organizations. \n Accountabilities: Lead and manage quota-carrying client and senior client managers, ensuring consistent performance, coaching, and execution across assigned public sector markets. Define and execute regional go-to-market strategies aligned with organizational objectives and tailored to federal, state, local government, and education clients. Drive sales planning, target setting, forecasting, and performance management to ensure achievement of revenue and growth objectives. Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with public sector stakeholders, vendors, and strategic partners to expand business opportunities. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across sales, solutions, legal, compliance, and delivery teams to ensure seamless execution of client engagements. Oversee sales operations, budgets, and reporting, ensuring disciplined execution and alignment with organizational policies and standards. Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture focused on accountability, innovation, and customer-centric execution. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Extensive experience in sales leadership roles within enterprise technology, IT services, or similar complex environments. Proven track record managing quota-bearing teams and driving consistent revenue performance in public sector markets. Strong understanding of government procurement cycles, compliance requirements, and public sector buying processes. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex go-to-market strategies in highly matrixed organizations. Excellent leadership, coaching, and talent development skills with the ability to inspire high-performing teams. Strong business acumen with expertise in sales forecasting, financial performance management, and strategic planning. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted advisory relationships at executive level.
