SUMMARY:

The Area Sales Director will lead a team of Region Managers & Strategic Account Managers with close coordination with Clinical Educators to execute the Pacira business sales strategy and tactics in order to meet or exceed sales revenue goals. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring strategic sales initiatives and tactical plans and programs to achieve business objectives for assigned markets through leadership and effective team management.

  • Develop area sales plan in alignment with and to advance the company’s near and longer-term strategic sales plan and revenue goals.
  • Be the leadership face of Pacira to our customers in the identified area, representing the company’s patient-focused mission.
  • Lead our area field team, both in the development of plans aligned to the company’s goals, and in the growth and development of our fellow Pacira employees in the area.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and develop lead creation strategies and processes to augment existing processes.
  • Continue to develop and implement a structured, effective sales process, and meet company established sales metrics.
  • Build enduring relationships and a strong customer base across all key sales channels.
  • Create strategic partnerships with hospital and Health Care Systems
  • Develop and grow repeat and new business through participation in industry associations, networking, client revitalization and outreach.
  • Collaborate effectively with all key cross-functional partners across the organization (Marketing, Medical, etc.) as well as with external customers and partners.
  • Partner effectively with Operations and Supply Chain to provide forecasting data, feedback on supplier experience, product performance and trends to ensure strategic product selection, inventory management and delivery of goods.
  • Lead, coach, counsel and develop a team of highly effective Coaches (Regional Managers) and SAS’s by clearly articulating the goals and upholding the standards of these leadership positions and providing clear, consistent, growth-minded feedback.
  • Execute sales training and best practices across the team to educate our Sales force on effective methods for coaching our sales team members as well as best practices in the sale of our products.
  • Discovering, developing, and retaining top talent with the goal of consistently raising the bar for our performance.
  • Provide coaching, development and encouraging work direction to a regional management team to meet and exceed Pacira’s business sales objectives.
  • Drive sales growth and profit objectives through key initiatives.
  • Deploy and manage resources, aligned to our budgets, to achieve sales objectives.
  • Communicate the vision, mission, and objectives of Pacira to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilizing all aspects of Pacira’s Performance Management Process consistently measure progress toward objectives, deliver business results and model leadership qualities to enhance personal effectiveness and growth.Market Responsibility:

    • Hospitals
  • Surgery Centers
  • Physician and Surgeon Providers
  • Distributors and other 1099 channels
  • Office-based practices and similar sites of care

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Marketing, or related content.
  • History of strong performance in a hospital-based sales environment, with experience in the surgical suite strongly preferred.
  • MBA from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • 5 years of people management experience required.
  • 2 years of second-line leadership (managing people managers) preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in medical/bio/pharmaceutical and/or medical device sales
  • Prior experience with pain management products preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth.
