Description

As Area Sales Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for a regional sales cluster, managing the field sales team to ensure customers are retained and new business opportunities are maximised, ensuring local targets are met and exceeded. You will be required to implement country Sales Plans, Sales Strategy and Sales Budget in the responsible territory, set strategic objectives for growth and increased profitability across the regional territory utilising local and industry knowledge. In addition, you will produce a Sales Force Activity/Business Plan for the sales team and provide appropriate results as input for review and/or development of the annual Sales Plan and Sales Budget.

  • Utilise the DHL global sales process to systematically manage all customer opportunities, using the reporting tools to ensure consistent sales approach.
  • Provide input as requested to annual Sales Budget Planning procedure
  • Conduct Sales Forecast procedure for responsible territory to compare actual performance to budget (and subsequent re-forecasts) as part of country review
  • Visit customers as needed to support co-selling as the most senior sales person in the sales territory
  • Establish a clear routine of individual coaching sessions, customer visit accompaniments and team debriefs for all sales executives with the overriding aim of achieving the revenue targets
  • Define training & development needs for all direct reports and ensure targets are achieved through regular assessment of their skill
