MacGregor Black are partnering with a consumer goods business on the search for an Area Sales Manager.
We are looking to appoint a high-calibre Area Sales Manager to cover London and the South East. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving commercial performance, growing own-brand and brands sales as well as identifying new business opportunities across a high-value, competitive territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain high-trust relationships with independent electrical retailers across London and the South East
- Drive sales of our own-brand product ranges through targeted customer activity, promotions, and category planning
- Identify and convert new business opportunities within the existing customer base and potential new independents
- Support customers with commercial planning, promotional activity, product knowledge, and performance analysis
- Deliver against regional sales and own-brand targets
- Provide market insight and competitive intelligence back into the wider commercial team
- Collaborate with central teams on tenders, partnerships, supply initiatives, and B2B opportunities that benefit the region
- Represent the business professionally in the field and act as a trusted advisor to customers
What We're Looking For:
- Proven track record in a field sales, commercial, or account management role within electrical retail
- Experience managing a territory and delivering against sales targets
- Strong understanding of the independent retail landscape
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills – able to gain trust quickly with independent business owners
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance data and turn insight into action
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role
- Clear, professional communicator (both written and verbal)
- Resilient and results-oriented, with a track record of hitting targets
- Comfortable presenting to store owners and senior decision-makers
- High integrity and a genuine interest in supporting independent retailers
- Proactive and commercially curious
- Professional presence and strong work ethic
- Collaborative team player who can also operate independently
- Must be based in, or within easy commuting distance of, the London / South East region
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the territory
- Ability to manage a diary of member visits, reviews, and commercial activity
