POSITION

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager (m/w/d) in the On-Trade for the region of East Austria (Focus Area Vienna but also Styria (focus Graz) and focus on Prestige Restaurants in Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria, Kärnten) in charge of developing our MH Brand Portfolio in terms of Brand Equity and Brand Profitability. With the mission to bring MH brands to the very top in respective sales area responsibility and relevant sales channels. This is a temporary position for 24 months.
Sales channel responsibility: Vienna & Graz: Hotels, Fine Dining, Bars & Lounges, High Energy Accounts, in Burgenland, Styria, Kärnten and Lower Austria on Fine Dining, but also with the sales team from the regional & national wholesalers in close cooperation with Key Account Management.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor Degree level education / Business Administration or related / Wine Diploma or WSET Wine, emphasis on sales

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & KNOW HOW:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Sales in On Trade and/or Off Trade Field
  • Preferably in Wines Sales positions or as Sommelier in top hotel or Restaurant
  • FMCG Background, preferable with Premium Brands
  • Luxury Affinity & W&S Interest
  • Preferable background with premium / luxury brands & customers

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build Brand Awareness and Desirability: Promote brand awareness and desirability by being part of the consumer demand creation team.
  • Customer Management: Manage all customer-related topics and services to achieve quantitative and qualitative objectives in line with customer development plans (distribution and visibility).
  • New Customer Acquisition: Identify new consumer touchpoints and explore new customer channels while respecting individual distribution strategies.
  • Build and Maintain Customer Relationships: Establish and foster long-term customer relationships within the respective sales area to achieve sales volume and value targets.
  • Sales Development: Develop sales volumes and values as well as sustainable profitability with customers within the respective sales area.
  • Manage Volume Targets: Oversee volume targets, sales promotions, merchandising, and selling prices.
  • Customer Expansion: Expand the customer universe by promoting our products in the right channels, focusing on high-potential customers.
  • Implement Brand Strategies: Execute and guard brand strategies as defined by the marketing department.
  • Budget Utilization: Fully utilize available budgets and support instruments to achieve area targets in line with corporate guidelines and sales and customer segmentation strategy.
  • Brand Activations and Visibility: Professionally execute brand marketing activations, brand visibility, and merchandising guidelines with respective customers.
  • Customer Events: Creatively support and implement customer events in close cooperation with the marketing department and brand guidelines.
  • Complaint Management: Professionally handle allocations, customer complaints, claims, approved returns, and other supply-related topics.
  • Product Training: Be responsible for product training for customers and consumers.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor and report KPIs and competitor activities.
  • Customer Visits: Professionally plan and execute customer visits, including preparation, follow-up, and documentation, applying sales and planning data.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strongly collaborate and efficiently communicate with internal (e.g., Customer Service, National Sales Management) and external (customers) interfaces.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ON-TRADE CUSTOMERS:

  • Customer Events: Creatively support and implement customer events in close cooperation with brand guidelines.
  • Product Goals: Achieve product-specific goals such as listings and selective distribution expansion in line with channel strategy.
  • Growth and Product Expertise: The candidate will be responsible for driving growth in the area for prestige restaurants, focusing on the most important products from our portfolio. Therefore, possessing a strong knowledge of wine is essential.
