PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Area Sales Manager in Perth, Western Australia on a full-time basis reporting to Regional Sales Manager. With 1400 styles across more than 20 ranges, we design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities.

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Area Sales Manager to join our growing team in Western Australia. This role is responsible for driving sales, building strong customer relationships, and promoting Portwest products to distributors, resellers, agents, and end users across the assigned territory.
The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B industrial sales, ideally within the workwear, PPE, or safety equipment sector, and will be confident in delivering consultative sales solutions to customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in field sales, ideally in workwear, safety products, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Results-driven and motivated by sales targets.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel regularly, and manage a sales territory.
  • Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing accounts.
  • Conduct daily face-to-face meetings with distributors, resellers, and agents.
  • Identify and nurture high-potential existing customers and develop strategic growth plans.
  • Identify new business opportunities and create structured sales plans.
  • Drive consistent new business acquisition through strategic prospecting and outreach.
  • Conduct consultative selling based on customers’ specific needs and provide tailored Portwest solutions.
  • Develop clear and effective proposals and quotations for prospective customers.
  • Promote and sell new product ranges by bringing samples to client meetings.
  • Ensure timely and effective follow-up to convert opportunities into closed sales.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform local strategies.
  • Represent Portwest at trade shows, seminars, and industry events.
  • Support distributor-led marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
