Position Overview:
The Area Sales Manager plays an important leadership role in a defined geographic area and grows the usage of finance products and portfolio balances in that area.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Roughly 60% travel within the assigned area (San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, and the Valley)
  • < 10% travel outside of the assigned area to attend events like company meetings and trade shows

Skills We Are Seeking::

  • Sales Experience: Minimum 3+ years of proven success in professional sales leadership or as a top-performing individual contributor within the green industry (landscape, irrigation, nursery, or related).
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of landscape, nursery, or irrigation products and practices.
  • Sales Skills: Demonstrated ability to build relationships, negotiate effectively, and close sales, with knowledge of re-wholesaling dynamics.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual: Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Leadership Competencies: Track record of developing customer relationships, driving growth strategies, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve results.
  • Market Insight: Familiarity with regional contractors, dealers, and customer networks in the green industry.
  • Strategic Sales Impact: Experience expanding product lines, creating new programs, or opening new markets.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead a team of sales professionals utilizing the company’s Salesforce Effectiveness Program
  • Work with the Area Manager to grow market share and gross margin
  • Conduct on-site customer visits to promote company products and services
  • Contact existing customers/vendors in person, by phone, or through electronic communication to further relationships and cultivate sales
  • Participate in local and regional trade associations to create and further develop the company’s presence in the marketplace and to network with existing and potential customers
  • Network internally with company branches to promote awareness of company activities and support product information/applications
  • Attend internal and external sales and product training sessions to advance sales skills and technological knowledge required to achieve both personal and company objectives
