Description

Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West, based in Waterlip just outside of Shepton Mallet, Due to continued growth and success, we are looking to appoint a Area Sales Representative to join our team and support the next phase of our business development.

This is a field-based role focused on developing new business and nurturing existing client relationships within the South West region. Reporting into the Head of Sales and Customer Services, your main responsibilities will be -

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across various sectors in the SW
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Conduct potential client visits, presentations and negotiations
  • Conduct market and competitor research to support lead generation and business growth initiatives.
  • Maintain and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-up with leads.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider Sales team as needed.
  • Oversee and execute the business marketing strategy inclusive of all social media platforms.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within logistic, transport or related industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • A proactive and professional approach to internal and external communication.
