JOB SUMMARY

The Area Security Supervisor/Event Coordinator will oversee security personnel, ensuring the safety of guests and staff while maintaining order at events. The role requires strong leadership, problem solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions in high pressure environments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Interviews, hires, and trains security staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff.
  • Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Must have or be able to obtain a CA Guard Card.
  • Must be available for every shift including weekends.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Previous experience in event security, law enforcement or crowd management.
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Five years of related security experience required.

Responsibilities

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned events.
  • Conducts pre-event briefings to communicate assignments, expectations, and emergency procedures.
  • Monitors security operations, including access control, crowd management, and incident response.
  • Maintains detailed incident reports and documentations of security activities.
  • Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment, staff, and visitors.
  • Provides specialized security and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as staff, vendor, and performance areas.
  • Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
