I. Job Summary The Area Supply Chain Manager (ASCM) leads and manages strategic supply chain projects, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across assigned spend categories. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects that optimize supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and compliance, while supporting enterprise-wide initiatives. The ASCM works directly with Area Leadership while also collaborating with Strategic Sourcing Managers, Corporate Supply Chain Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results to the Area and WM. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned by Area Leadership or your Supply Chain Director: Project Leadership & Execution Lead supply chain projects from initiation through completion, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder engagement. Develop project plans, milestones, and progress to ensure timely delivery of objectives. Mitigate project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes, through contract agreements. Identify and facilitate area Requests for Proposal (RFPs), manage project budgets, and drive cost reduction initiatives. Supplier & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers to support project goals and foster collaboration. Perform supplier performance reviews, feedback, and issue resolution. Drive supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives within the region. Performance Measurement & Reporting Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain projects and supplier performance. Collect, analyze, and report data on project outcomes and supplier metrics to Area Leadership and Corport Supply Chain Directors on a quarterly basis. Present findings and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making and process improvements. Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories, leveraging volume and spend to maximize value. Collaborate with Corporate Strategic Sourcing Managers and Area Procurement Managers to align area initiatives with enterprise objectives. Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs and enhance contract compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with other ASCMs, functional subject matter experts, and business units to share best practices and drive value chain improvements. Participate in special projects and activities that enhance the effectiveness of the supply chain department. Align with area site leadership to identify cost savings and project management opportunities. III. Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for the area supply chain project manager who will report directly to this role. IV. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field; or High School Diploma/GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience. Experience: Five years of relevant work experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations No specific certificates, licenses, or registrations required. Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated expertise in project management, financial analysis, and purchasing. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. Advanced experience with strategic sourcing, supplier development, and performance measurement. V. Work Environment Primarily office-based with occasional travel to supplier or project sites. Requires frequent use of motor coordination and finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation). May occasionally handle objects weighing less than 30 pounds.
