Description

South West based charitable housing association BCHA was founded over 50 years ago with a continuing mission to meet housing need and end homelessness. We aim to achieve this through the building and provision of affordable and secure homes, and by supporting individuals to take control and lead independent, fulfilled lives. Whether we are developing sites or supporting people with housing, learning or living skills, we believe in equality, the importance of every individual and the right to be valued and treated with dignity and respect. Our doors are open to everyone.

POSITION:

Are you passionate about promoting financial inclusion and driving positive change in rent collection processes? Do you have a talent for balancing people-centred support with effective arrears management? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
BCHA is looking for an experienced and motivated Arrears Specialist to join our team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with individuals from all levels of the organisation and external partners, and to manage effective liaison with a variety of different customers, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

In this vital role, you’ll work closely with our Housing Teams to provide expert arrears advice and support across a diverse portfolio—including general needs, supported housing, and intensive housing management accommodation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on the arrears journey from end to end, including former tenant arrears
  • Supporting the simplification and streamlining of arrears processes
  • Enhancing our digital approach to arrears, including the use of AI to identify trends and hotspots
  • Delivering training and updates to frontline staff, ensuring best practice is embedded in rent collection and financial inclusion strategies

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is proactive, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering both financial outcomes and excellent customer service.
