Description Armed Security Guard Supervisor What you'll do... The Armed Security Guard II (Supervisor) is responsible for supervising staff and protecting premises, assets, and personnel. You will also maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. Day to day you’ll … Oversee and ensure the safety of armed security guards Act as the point of contact for the contract Provide oversight to assigned guards and ensure they are prepared to begin work on time Ensure compliance with orders, policies and procedures, with emphasis on safe conduct of operations. Evaluate armed security guard performance and ensure all security guards follow the assigned Standard Operating Procedures Carry out emergency notification and assistance and use of firearm, if necessary Oversee the detaining and arresting process when necessary Provide initial and ongoing training to the armed security guards Review, complete and submit Incident and Use of Force Reports, as necessary Requirements Requirements What you'll bring to the team... Education High School diploma or equivalent Hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Pay rate $22 per hour Work Experience Must have a minimum of twenty (20) hours of supervisor training Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the military, in civilian law enforcement, or related experience with a civilian security agency Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a supervisor capacity and overseeing unarmed security guards Must be currently licensed or certified, as required by Maryland State Police to carry firearms and non-lethal devices Qualifications Security guard(s) must have excellent customer service skills and be able to skillfully and appropriately interact with BCDSS staff, the public, and welcome visitors into BCDSS offices Ability to operate and teach the use of X-rays and Magnetometers systems and emergency equipment Exceptional knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols Should have surveillance skills and be detail orientated Must conduct yourself with integrity and professionalism Must be 21 years of age or older Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record Training Must participate in or be skilled in decorum, trauma-informed interaction and/or civility training Must participate in customer service training Maryland HQL and CCW 12-hour Maryland Security Guard Card Training OC Spray, Baton, and Handcuffing CPR, Narcan, and First Aid De-escalation and Dealing with Difficult Customers training Any other training mandated by the company or required per the contract All training required by the Director of Security All training required by the Human Resources Department Benefits Eligible employees may enroll in the available medical, dental, and vision coverage plans.
