Citi Wealth’s Art Advisory team has been a leader in the art advisory field since 1979, a regulated fiduciary providing personalized acquisition and selling strategies, as well as collection management services. The Art Advisor Senior Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows the latest trends in the art world and adapts them for application to serve clients’ needs and the business; typically, a small number of people within the business provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally and externally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide and educate others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external customers. Accountable for significant business results. Ability to provide authoritative advice regarding client acquisitions or deaccessions. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for handling resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive experience in the art market
  • Proven business development skills and experience
  • Degree in Art History
  • Expertise and responsibility equivalent to senior specialist at auction house or Senior Director at major gallery.
  • Candidate must have expertise in Impressionist & Modern Art, with additional strength in Postwar & Contemporary art.
  • Willingness to expand area of expertise as necessary.
  • Foreign Languages and international experience a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Art History required.
  • Master’s degree preferred
    Additional Skills required:
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint; Zoom.
