Description Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a dedicated Art Counselor to provide art counseling services in our Center Township, Beaver Falls, and Ohioville, PA locations. As an Art Counselor, you will lead Art Therapy sessions at several GRC locations while ensuring the nurturing of a therapeutic atmosphere. Responsibilities Provides Art Counseling services to patients between Abe’s Place, Rutter House, and R.E.S.T. programs. Develops and implements Art Counseling curriculum that compliments the existing treatment programming curriculum. Coordinates with other special programming to offer open art studio time allowing patients to enhance their creativity. Create and enhance patient events in conjunction with other staff to provide a wholistic environment that compliments the Gateway mission statement of mind, body, and spirit. Participate in team meetings and support the therapy teams in patient treatment goals. Complete documentation on group and individual interaction in patient records. Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or addictions preferred. Knowledge of Art Programming and use in addiction treatment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human services field. Preferred Requirements Master’s degree in art therapy or counseling discipline preferred. Additional Requirements Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check. Obtain PA or a State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances. Pass Drug Screen. 2-Step TB Test. Valid drivers license and favorable driving record. Work Conditions Favorable working conditions. Minimal physical demands. Significant mental demands include those necessary to support treatment of adolescents with behavioral issues and their families.
