EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, related field, and/or equivalent experience preferred

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with a significant portion in a senior or lead designer role.
  • An impressive portfolio that highlights expertise in various design disciplines and successful project outcomes.
  • Experience in leading design projects, mentoring junior designers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.

SKILLS LIST

  • Mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with web design tools (Figma).
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute visually compelling designs that align with brand objectives and resonate with the target audience.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit strong leadership by actively collaborating with the design team to efficiently complete creative projects and various design tasks.
  • Engage with the Secondary Brands team to develop original brand/design concepts for new products destined for Mattress Firm stores and online platforms.
  • Manage the creation of diverse media elements including logos, color palettes, fonts, toolkits, product and lifestyle photo shoots, in-store POP (in-store display) , and more.
  • Conceptualize and implement large-scale Out-of-Home (OOH) takeover strategies, such as billboard campaigns, subway and transit takeovers, vehicle wraps, and digital displays.
  • Drive high-impact promotional campaigns that achieve millions of impressions across various media outlets nationwide.
  • Directly coordinate with the Promo, Media, and In-store teams to develop and refine initial concepts, delivering ready-to-use assets for promotional events.
  • Maintain professional communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings to offer creative insights beyond the immediate scope of design projects.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new team members by sharing industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Provide input on internal process improvements to enhance team productivity and workflow efficiency.
  • Attend industry events and workshops to stay abreast of the latest design trends and technologies, bringing back learnings to the team.
  • Occasionally contribute to the company’s internal branding and employee engagement initiatives through creative input and design support.
  • Offer creative support for ad-hoc company projects or initiatives that may fall outside the typical realm of marketing design.
  • Execute Company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.
