Job Title: Art Handler – Specialty Packing (Museum/Artifact Handling)
Location: Nepean, ON
Job Type: Full-Time

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in specialty packing for museums, galleries, art handling companies, or similar fields
  • Strong knowledge of proper packing materials and techniques for fragile or high-value items
  • Excellent attention to detail, hand skills, and care in manual handling
  • Ability to safely lift and maneuver large or delicate objects using appropriate tools or equipment
  • Ability to follow detailed packing and security protocols

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in or with museums, galleries, or cultural institutions
  • Familiarity with crate construction, foam fabrication, or archival materials
  • Previous work in secured environments or government buildings a plus

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Laborer with specialty packing experience to join our team. This position is focused on the careful handling, packing, and preparation of museum-quality artifacts and high-value historical items. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with delicate, one-of-a-kind objects and an understanding of the materials and methods needed to ensure their protection.
This role requires a clean criminal record and the ability to pass a government reliability screening, as work will often be conducted in secure or sensitive facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Expertly pack, wrap, and prepare fragile, irreplaceable items including artifacts, antiques, and museum-grade objects
  • Use conservation-friendly materials and best practices to ensure the preservation and safe transport of sensitive items
  • Build or modify custom enclosures, crates, and supports as required
  • Handle all items with extreme care and attention to detail at all stages of preparation
  • Document, label, and track items according to specific handling and security protocols
  • Work on-site at client locations, including government buildings and secure institutions, with professionalism and discretion
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure workspace in the warehouse
