Art Teacher

at  Hamilton Montessori School

Hamilton Montessori School is looking for a part-time art teacher. Individuals must provide a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate children’s growth in art lessons. Children will be ages 4 years (S.K) to 10 years of age (Grade 5).

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

• Previous teaching, tutoring or instruction in art.
• Knowledge of basic art history and experience with a variety of mediums, such as:
• Painting, sketching, paper crafts, etc.
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

EDUCATION:

• College or University
• A Degree or Diploma in the arts is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

• Teaching or instructing children and/or Elementary students in art.
• Can be a current University or College student.

• Classroom management skills.
• Prepared lessons for teaching art; we can provide art materials as required.
• Cater lessons to children on different levels, teaching foundational art theory and technique to new learners.
• Creating a fun learning environment for children.
• Managing and motivating students throughout their learning of art.
