ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING DIRECTOR
We are seeking an experienced AI/ML professional to develop and deploy machine learning solutions that enhance operational efficiency across a large-scale organization. The preferred candidate will be a strategic business analyst with AI expertise, capable of identifying business problems, developing use cases, and determining when AI is the appropriate solution.
The AI/ML Director will oversee the full ML lifecycle, including development of the company AI strategy, data preparation and modeling, integration, deployment, and monitoring. The Director will focus on embedding AI capabilities into enterprise systems used in the utility contractor and EPC environment. The AI/ML Director acts as a bridge between operations, IT, and corporate teams, and communicate with stakeholders at all levels. The Director will be based in our Englewood, CO office, and will report to the VP of Operations Technology.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3+ years leadership experience
· 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, including NLP or computer vision
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
· Strategic mindset and to align with organizational goals
· Excellent communication and training skills
· Experience with AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Copilot, ChatGPT) and basic software development (preferably Microsoft stack)
· Proficiency in Python and familiarity with OOP and experience in writing modular, testable code and applying unit test-driven development best practices.
· Ability to architect AI solutions in partnership with software architects,
· Familiarity with vector databases and model integration.
· Familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow) and lifecycle tools (e.g. Azure ML, MLFlow, AWS Sagemaker)
· Proficient in model evaluation, statistical analysis, and data visualization
· Experience in using context-engineering, RAG, PEFT, and Fine-Tuning to drive accurate, optimized results
· Able to manage projects across technical and business domains
· Strong business analysis and product ownership skills
· Gas and electric utility construction industry, and/or EPC experience preferred
· Familiar with enterprise systems used in utility construction: Spectrum, HCSS suite, Oragami, Prophix, Onestream, PowerBI, EcoSys, Primavera P6, Incorta, Bid 2 Win,
· The physical activity for this role includes
o Travel as needed
o Standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time in an office environment
o Manual dexterity in the use of computers and other equipment
