AI / Backend Developer

We are looking for an AI / Backend Developer to join a long-term project in the transport & rail domain.

Location: 90% Remote / 10% Berlin

Candidate Location: Germany

Start: 14 September 2026

Contract: Permanent employment only

Workload: Full-time

Language: German C1/C2

Key Requirements

• 3+ years of backend/data integration development
• 3+ years of REST API development
• Strong PostgreSQL, SQL and data modelling experience
• 3+ years with Docker and containerised microservices
• Experience integrating and transforming structured data
• Experience with backend integration services and API design

Responsibilities

• Develop backend integration services and REST APIs
• Design and optimise data models and PostgreSQL databases
• Build containerised microservices
• Support testing, deployment and technical documentation
• Work on structured data integration and transformation

Nice to Have

• FastAPI or Express.js
• OpenAPI
• JSON, XML and CSV
• Geodata / maps
• AI Agents
• MCP Server experience
