We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join the IT team of one of our Dubai-based clients.

The ideal candidate will have around five years of software engineering experience, having started their career in development before progressing into AI-focused roles. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can build AI solutions while confidently communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and wider business teams.

• ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and deploy AI applications end-to-end, from prototype through to production.
• Develop AI-driven workflows using foundation models, LLM APIs, prompting, tool calling, and RAG.
• Integrate AI capabilities into products and backend services.
• Guide AI coding agents while maintaining ownership of architecture, security, code quality, and maintainability.
• Build evaluation, testing, and monitoring frameworks for quality, safety, latency, and cost.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools and provide build-versus-buy recommendations.
• Work closely with IT and wider business stakeholders on technical and business-wide projects.
• Explain technical concepts and AI solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical teams.

• RequirementsAround five years of experience in software engineering, development, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on developer background, with progression into AI, ML, or generative-AI-focused positions.
• Experience building and deploying AI or ML applications in production environments.
• Hands-on exposure to LLM APIs and generative AI patterns, including prompting, tool calling, and RAG.
• Good understanding of ML fundamentals, software architecture, security, and maintainable code practices.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to complete a technical assessment as part of the interview process.

We are hiring on behalf of a UAE Government Department for a hands-on Generative AI Engineer to join its Applied AI team in Abu Dhabi.

The ideal candidate will combine strong Generative AI/LLM expertise with full-stack software engineering and Microsoft Azure experience and will be responsible for building and deploying production-ready AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Generative AI applications, AI assistants, copilots, and agentic AI solutions.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, AI agents, embeddings, semantic search, and LLM integrations.
• Develop full-stack AI applications across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and AI orchestration layers.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, and databases.
• Deploy and manage AI applications using Microsoft Azure, Docker, CI/CD, and modern cloud practices.
• Build scalable, secure, and production-ready AI solutions with appropriate monitoring and evaluation.
• Rapidly prototype AI solutions and convert successful concepts into production applications.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to identify and implement practical AI use cases.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI / LLM application development.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• JavaScript / TypeScript and experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, AI agents, prompt/context engineering and LLM APIs.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application deployment.
• REST APIs, Git, Docker and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with AI development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, or similar.
• Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Have

Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, MLflow, Kubernetes, or LLM serving technologies will be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in AI Engineering, Generative AI, Software Engineering, ML, Data Science, or Applied AI.
• A strong portfolio of AI applications/projects is highly desirable.
