PAY: The wage range for this position is $22 to $25 per hour, with the actual pay dependent on your, education level, skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements. JOB OFFERS: The intern program may only last 10-weeks, June 1st - August 7th, but we don’t want the experience to end there. Our top interns are often offered extended internships or future job opportunities at Pitney Bowes This internship is ONSITE in Shelton, CT. Candidates must be able to work in person for the full 10‑week program. Join the SendTech Engineering Organization as an AI/ML Intern and work with the AI Center of Excellence and engineering teams on real projects involving machine learning, generative AI, automation, and data engineering. This internship gives you hands‑on experience, mentorship, and the chance to contribute to impactful solutions. You Will: Assist in developing and testing machine learning models for prediction, classification, and generative tasks. Support AI workflows through data preparation, feature exploration, and basic deployment steps. Build prototypes and proof‑of‑concept tools using Python and cloud technologies. Analyze datasets to uncover insights that support product or process improvements. Help document experiments and summarize model performance. Work with engineering mentors to troubleshoot and refine AI components. You Bring: Strong Python programming skills. Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (e.g., supervised learning, NLP, deep learning). Familiarity with ML libraries such as scikit‑learn, LangGraph, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Interest in generative AI, LLMs, or retrieval systems is a plus. Ability to work with datasets and create simple analyses or visualizations. Curiosity, communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Preferred Background Coursework in AI, ML, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields. Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or GCP. Experience from school projects, research, hackathons, or personal projects.
