If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the role of Arts + Ideas Film Festival Intern in our Arts + Ideas Department at the Stroum Jewish Community Center. The Stroum Jewish Community Center’s Arts + Ideas Program and Seattle Jewish Film Festival (SJFF) are looking for a motivated, organized, and dynamic Intern to support the largest Jewish cultural event in the Pacific Northwest and one of the longest-running international film festivals in the region. SJCC Arts + Ideas presents speakers and chefs, live comedy, music, family shows, films and exhibits year-round; plus the annual Seattle Jewish Film Festival each spring, a highly anticipated public event. A cornerstone of SJCC’s community building mission, SJFF is a cinematic celebration of global Jewish life, history, and culture to amplify profound Jewish connections for everyone in the region. The Arts + Ideas/Film Festival Intern will play a supportive role on SJCC Arts + Ideas Team, assisting with administrative planning and preparations, communications and promotions, and event operations. Learn more at sjcc.org/arts|seattlejff.org. Flexible schedule: Approximately 5-10 hours per week from November to end of March, working in office and/or remotely. Additional hours may be available working box office for events (with training). Some of the duties and responsibilities of an Arts + Ideas/Film Festival Intern are to: · Assist with Arts + Ideas program delivery from box office to guest services to special events · Communicate with filmmakers/distributors to secure screeners, invoices, PR materials in coordination with the Program Coordinator and Festival Short Film Curator · Contribute to Festival promotion and outreach · Support community outreach · Build student/youth engagement as audiences and volunteers · Depending on skill set, build pre-show trailer packages · Assist with guest hospitality and events · Upkeep Festival archive · Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs. · Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements To be successful as an Arts + Ideas/Film Festival Intern, you should have the following knowledge, skills and/or abilities: · Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams. · Familiarity with Photoshop, graphics or film editing software a plus. · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. · Effective at completing assigned duties according to set timelines. · Customer service experience · Ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting.
