Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Arts Learning Officer to join the CAPTIVATE team on a permanent part-time basis.

  • Percussion Tutor – 1 Day per week (Permanent Part-Time position)

The Percussion Tutor undertakes the following responsibilities:

  • Provide instrument-specific teaching to students both in small groups and, where requested, individually on a weekly basis both during school time and before or after school depending on spacing availability and student timetables.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and biannual reports to parents.
  • Provide instrument-specific knowledge to develop ensembles in both rehearsal and performance before and after school.
  • Provide instrument-specific knowledge to support the work of the Specialist Teacher in the delivery of classroom-based band programs on a weekly basis during school time.
  • Willingness and ability to deliver the classroom program when the assigned Specialist Teacher is away.
  • Lead ensembles and workshops under the guidance of the Specialist Teacher both during school time and after school.
  • Provide assessment, maintenance and cleaning, tagging and logging of instruments.
