This Art Programming Internship involves assisting with the planning and execution of art-related programs and installations, community-focused art projects and events, and other creative placemaking efforts in East Lansing and at (SCENE) Metrospace.
This position will work under the direction of Community and Economic Development Department staff to assist in developing and implementing arts related events throughout the community as well as the programming at (SCENE) Metrospace. The hours will vary weekly and average approximately 12-20 hours per week. Due to the nature of this position, individuals must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preference for those pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related discipline.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform the essential functions of the job, an individual may be required to stay in one place for prolonged periods of time as well as travel between sites within the city, handle moderately heavy (25 – 40 pounds) bags/boxes/equipment, operate assigned office equipment including computers, and communicate effectively with both City employees and the public.
