Overview A kind family of four in Greenwich Village is seeking a highly qualified educator to support their 7-year-old daughter who has been diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. The family has an infant as well, but that child has their own nanny, and no infant care will be required. The hours for this role are flexible- the family is seeking someone who is able to accompany the child to school for at least a portion of the day, and then ideally accompany the child home and work with her in the home setting on executive functioning, and reinforcing classroom lessons and skills. They are open to a part-time or very full-time solution for the right person! Responsibilities Work with the child in the classroom, providing support as needed Maintain communication between teachers, parents, and therapists, maintaining documentation and organization, and ensuring that everyone is working cohesively to meet goals and milestones Develop supplemental lessons and activities to work on developmental building blocks and fundamental skills Provide leadership and oversight to everyone supporting the child Create structure and systems in the home to help develop independence Travel with the family- approximately 6-7 weeks per year internationally Qualifications Highly organized Excellent communication and leadership skills- this person will be leading the educational and support team Patient and adaptable- able to make adjustments to meet changing needs Strong team player Warm, engaging, and excellent at connecting with children Requirements US work authorization Able to work a schedule that includes some school hours, and some hours after school at the home Strong understanding of how children learn- educational ladders and adapting lessons to meet the needs of the child Experience providing academic support to children with ADHD and Autism Salary and Benefits $45-60/hr.++ DOE Benefits, including PTO and health reimbursement or insurance for the right candidate
Responsibilities
The educator will support a 7-year-old with ADHD and Autism by accompanying her to school, working on executive functioning skills at home, and reinforcing classroom lessons.
