We are seeking an Asbestos Field Technician to join our growing team in San Diego. Learn more at Abatetest.com. Key Responsibilities Conduct asbestos surveys at residential and commercial properties under supervision of a Project Manager. Identify and collect bulk samples of suspect materials in compliance with EPA/AHERA protocols. Maintain strict chain-of-custody for all samples. Complete field documentation, sample logs, and basic condition assessments. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, state/local rules). Communicate professionally with property owners, contractors, and team members. Properly use PPE and field testing tools. Attend project-specific safety meetings and training as required. Requirements Required Qualifications Valid EPA/AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification. Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) and lead state certification. AHERA Management Planner, Project Designer, Contractor/Supervisor, and Building Inspector certifications. Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills. Physical ability to work in field environments (attics, crawlspaces, roofs). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to follow procedures and take direction. Preferred Qualifications 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred but not required). Prior experience in construction, restoration, or environmental services. Working Conditions Frequent local travel to inspection sites. Work may involve climbing ladders, lifting up to 40 lbs, and wearing a respirator.
