Description Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Facility Manager to lead the operation and maintenance of all building systems supporting our Ambulatory Surgery Centers in Boulder and Broomfield. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, compliant, and fully operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Facility Manager oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technical systems across both locations, ensuring equipment reliability, preventative maintenance execution, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with administrative leadership, vendor coordination, and strategic facility oversight to keep our surgery centers running efficiently and without interruption. Department: Facilities Reports to: Director of Business Development Schedule/Type: FT - Salary, Exempt Wage: $100,000-115,000/year, commensurate with experience Bonus Eligibility: No Requirements Essential Duties Regulatory Compliance & Safety Ensure full compliance with OSHA, CMS, AAAHC, TJC, NFPA, FGI, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain continuous survey readiness through Environment of Care (EOC) rounds, safety inspections, and documentation. Develop and maintain EOC and EHS policies and emergency response plans (fire, utility failure, environmental alarms). Monitor and enforce fire code and life safety standards across both facilities. Building Systems & Technical Operations Operate and maintain all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Technical (MEPT) systems, including BAS/DDC controls, life safety systems, medical gas, steam generators, and critical water systems. Serve as first responder for building system issues and critical alarms, including after-hours response as needed. Execute preventative maintenance programs and oversee repairs to ensure optimal system performance. Read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals. Perform minor general maintenance tasks as needed. Vendor & Contract Management Serve as primary point of contact for vendors and service providers. Negotiate and manage service contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and regulatory compliance. Oversee outsourced maintenance and verify service standards through inspection and documentation. Operational & Strategic Leadership Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, energy conservation, and sustainability. Manage facility modifications, outages, refits, and capital improvement projects. Develop long-term capital plans aligned with facility growth and infrastructure needs. Partner with executive leadership on space planning and strategic facility initiatives. Provide regular updates to leadership regarding facility performance, risks, and capital planning. Technical Skills & Experience Proficiency with CMMS and facility management software. Strong working knowledge of healthcare facility regulations and accreditation standards. Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, medical gas systems, and critical water management. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex building system issues in real time. Experience balancing technical operations with budgeting, contract oversight, and cost control. Knowledge of emergency management and healthcare incident response protocols. Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required). HVAC/R certification and Universal EPA certification strongly preferred. Building Controls, Energy Management, or Water Management certifications a plus. Minimum 4+ years of facility management experience in a healthcare setting (hospital or ASC preferred).
