Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design or related field
  • One year progressive responsibility in graphic design work (part-time service considered 2:1 ratio).
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, equipment, design and desktop publishing software.
  • Basic understanding of marketing and promotional concepts.
  • Layout design of brochures, manuals, newsletters, and other media.
  • Knowledge of copyright laws applicable to design work and creative properties.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas both verbally and visually.
  • Knowledge of materials costs and timeline limits to prepare cost and time estimates.
  • Demonstrated experience with staff supervision, and budget management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of state and university policies and regulations.
  • Experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Experience working in Higher Education.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 20 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, copiers.
Work is performed in an office environment and throughout the campus areas during student programs; continuous contact with other staff, students, faculty, and the public.

Responsibilities

Design Responsibilities:

  • Assists in designing a wide variety of visual presentations for marketing and promotional displays in accordance with university guidelines and ASI & SC brand standards.
  • Creates graphics, layouts, digital advertising, and artwork concepts based on client needs and targeted audiences, ensuring alignment with ASI & SC branding.
  • Utilizes design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to produce and edit visual materials.
  • Documents and maintains organized files of all ASI & SC design assets and materials.
  • Facilitates the routing of design proofing, editing, and approvals by submitting drafts to clients and incorporating feedback.
  • Prepares and provides final artwork files for print and digital production.
  • Supports the production of print and digital marketing materials across multiple platforms.
  • Responds to image and graphic requests from internal departments.
  • Participates in brainstorming sessions and contributes creative concepts and ideas.
  • Ensures brand consistency and compliance with established design and visual communication standards.
  • Maintains working knowledge of branding, emerging technologies, and design software to enhance creative work.
  • Ensures proper operation of design equipment and software by completing preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Works efficiently to meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Communicates effectively with team members, clients, and supervisors to clarify project requirements.
  • Participates in team meetings, offering creative input and insights.

Administration Responsibilities:

  • Operates, maintains, and orders supplies for printers and other peripherals.
  • Conducts annual presentation or report on up-to-date visual assets and branding trends for ASI & SC to follow.
