  • Good at Python programming and familiar with GenAI frameworks (OpenAI API, FastAI etc)
  • Knowledgeable in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
Responsibilities

As part of our commitment to improve development efficiency and engineering insight, Seagate is building Generative AI-powered user interfaces that allow engineers to interact with structured data through natural language. We are looking for an intern with solid Python skills and interest in AI-powered UI development to join a collaborative, cross-functional team. This role will report to an Engineering Manager and you will work closely with media development engineers and the Global Factory Information Technologies(GFIT) team to design, prototype, and deploy intuitive GenAI tools that operate on coherent structured datasets gathered from multiple tools and manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and prototype natural language interfaces that allow users to query and interpret structured data (e.g., production metrics, test results, equipment logs).
  • Build user-facing components to interact with GenAI models (e.g., OpenAI, FastAI), focusing on responsive, intuitive UI design.
  • Collaborate with various engineering groups to develop, validate and implement AI Agents and tools for their use case to improve productivity, analysis automation, and other needs to improve development efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineers and IT specialists to understand domain-specific workflows and data relationships.
  • Support testing and iteration cycles based on user feedback and performance evaluation.
