In this role of Asia Project Manager- Sourcing and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing vendor relationships, managing critical programs, and leading special projects within our Asia Programs team, dealing with all aspects of the supply chain in relation to our various product lines and programs. Your expertise in a relevant trade business will support you in this role. Reporting to the Associate Director, Asia Programs, you will navigate shifting priorities and global time zones to ensure seamless execution of initiatives, including resolution of pricing issues or quality/ design issues. Your ability to analyze complex data, pay attention to the details, anticipate roadblocks, and maintain strong relationships (internally and externally) will be essential to success.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher level, in the supply chain discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in a related sourcing and operations role, with a minimum of five(5) years in progressive project, vendor, product and program management with Asia vendors
  • PMP certification completed, or actively pursuing

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Relevant supply chain related experience with demonstrated project and program management experience.
  • Offshore sourcing and business development experience required.
  • Proven ability to multitask under tight deadlines, and manage large, complex projects, with shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (required!) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of analyzing data, identifying trends, and solving complex problems through effective decision-making and influencing skills.
  • Sharp eye for detail, paired with strong numerical and computational acumen.
  • Flexible to accommodate global time zones, including early morning or late evening meetings and deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to drive efficiency and results.
  • Adept with Office 365 (particularly MS Excel), ERP tools, and related technology products.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities

Responsibilities

THIS IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACT ROLE- MAXIMUM OF 12 MONTHS

Actual salary will depend on overall experience of hired candidate.
Note to candidates: This is NOT an Information Technology role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Program & Vendor Management: collaborate closely with the Asia programs team to optimize program opportunities with existing or new product lines and vendor partnerships. This may involve visits to some of our mills and related vendors as applicable.
  • Effectively lead projects to ensure projects are planned, prioritized, and executed efficiently based on core project management principles.
  • Product Development: Manage the product development process from concept to launch, and ensure products meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
  • Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and keep initiatives on track.
  • Oversee vendor production schedules, order deliveries, and pricing updates, and swiftly handle problems while maintaining communication with all relevant parties.
  • Prepare detailed quotations for customers and apply relevant price adjustments with extreme diligence and care based on approvals/ contracts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Prepare and update weekly reports for key customers and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate pricing records and analyze financial data to support decision-making.
  • Offshore Sourcing: Support business developmentbyidentifying and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery standards, and effectively managing the established relationships and their performance.
  • Effectively negotiate terms of contracts with suppliers.
  • Support process and workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to program and vendor operations, including updates to various systems and processes.
  • Participate in all required meetings.
