Job Description ASIC SSD Architect – Security Focus We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ASIC SSD Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design and architect secure SSD solutions, emphasizing advanced security features such as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Caliptra open-source security IP, and other hardware-based security mechanisms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SSD technology, cryptographic protocols, secure boot, and the ability to integrate robust security architectures into high-performance, low-power SSD controllers. Key Responsibilities: Define ASIC architecture and IP specifications with a strong focus on security features for SSD controllers. Drive HW/FW partitioning to ensure secure implementation of cryptographic and authentication mechanisms. Collaborate across multiple product lines to gather security requirements and define architecture. Work closely with design and verification teams, providing technical guidance on security integration. Lead complex architectural activities involving multiple interfaces and security domains. Architect SSD solutions incorporating secure boot, key management, and hardware root of trust. Integrate Caliptra open-source security IP and ensure compliance with emerging security standards. Analyze SSD performance and reliability while maintaining strong security guarantees. Evaluate the entire process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power optimization with security considerations. Stay current with PQC algorithms, cryptographic standards, and security certifications relevant to storage devices. Qualifications BSc. in Computer Science or Computer / Electrical Engineering At least 10 years of experience in ASIC architecture Proven background in security architectures and cryptographic protocols (e.g., PQC, secure boot, hardware root of trust) Familiarity with Caliptra open-source security IP and related standards - advantage Strong expertise in security features for storage controllers, including cryptographic algorithms and secure key management. Proven track record of driving architecture convergence in complex semiconductor designs. Proficiency in ASIC design tools, simulation methodologies, and hardware description languages (HDLs). Solid understanding of power management techniques and low-power design principles for SSDs. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Capable of developing a wide system view for complex embedded systems Additional Information Sandisk thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
