Description Compensation $22 per Hour, Full-Time + Overtime Summary The Asphalt Technician performs tasks involving physical labor at asphalt projects. The position may operate a variety of hand/power tools and heavy machinery to clean and prepare sites, lay asphalt or products, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers. Job Responsibilities Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in asphalt projects; performs manual work in preparing surfaces for paving, repairing or sealing. Works with team members to lay asphalt, equipment, sealers, and other products. Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Performs materials handling and storage. Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials. Complies with all safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations Performs other functions as assigned. Preferably has three months or more of related work experience. CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement is a bonus. Physical Requirements The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Days and hours may vary depending on the size and nature of the project. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.
