It is expected that the essential duties and responsibilities of the AMS job will require 20% leadership work and 80%on actual tool time. The person in this classification is expected to perform as a professional, highly skilled and exceptionally competent maintenance person and leader. Responsible for leading the day-to-day work associated with maintaining a running plant & scheduling of maintenance personnel. Must be able to analyze causes of breakdowns and initiate corrective measures. Completes required records and reports. Lead and participates in teams to develop and implement engineering solutions. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Must work safely and follow all documented and “common sense” safety polices and procedures. Must ensure the maintenance team complies with site Energy Control Procedures (ECP's) and Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) system. Must have respect for the potential hazards within the manufacturing operation and ensure the maintenance team takes the necessary precautions. Training and regular auditing of the process. Follows all environmental compliance polices & programs. Must ensure safe rigging procedures Computer literacy – email, simple spreadsheet, word doc, SAP. Strong troubleshooting skills, how to analyze a problem and step to the root cause. Avoids “replace and see what happens method”. Installs, modifies, or maintains plant equipment and is the driver to help the team determine appropriate methods to accomplish these tasks. Inspects plant equipment to identify potential problems prior to breakdown occurrences. Lead and participates in teams to develop and implement engineering solutions. Responsible for all planning and scheduling activities. Communicate job status daily to plant leadership. Develop tentative maintenance schedule one week in advance and communicate to maintenance personnel and plant leadership. Order necessary parts and materials appropriately so jobs can be completed as scheduled Review maintenance schedule daily with all maintenance personnel and plant leadership. Job out maintenance tasks to maintenance team daily. Must review maintenance notifications daily and ensure notifications get converter to work orders and scheduled appropriately. Mange work order system in SAP. Daily, ensure work orders are getting closed, and time added or pushed appropriately. On a continuous basis, ensure that schedule is maintained and current. Ensure all maintenance activities are captured for yearly shutdowns and periodic pit stops. Responsible for ensuring spare parts get ordered and restocked once issued out of store stock inventory Follow-up and hold mechanics accountable on daily work and ensure work gets done properly and safely. Communicate daily with plant leadership on any schedule changes made. Mentor and develop mechanics Ensure the completion of all equipment care and maintenance equipment PMs to the intent of the preventative maintenance plan. Must be an active member of 7:00 a.m. meeting daily, providing solutions for maintenance and production. Adjust maintenance schedule accordingly and a plan to address plant issues identified from Daily Shift Report and 7:00 meeting. Be a positive spokesperson and help lead plant wide changes. Read, understand, and analyze blueprints and other technical data references. Expert use of hand and power tools. Work as instructed with outside contractors. Develop housekeeping plan for maintenance shop and maintenance areas and develop a system to ensure it gets done. Complies with good housekeeping practices on the job and ensures work areas are clean and picked up after each job completion. Comply with all plant rules. Forklift operation, licensed All other duties as assigned or needed. Regular Attendance on site and ability to respond after hours or on weekends if process upsets occur that hinder production SKILLS AND ABILITIES The employee should hold the following abilities: Basic Computer Skills Able to think under pressure and make quick decisions Able to effectively direct a team. Basic PLC knowledge Basic Hydraulic Basic Pneumatics Basic Blueprint & Schematic reading Good written & oral communication skills Coaching skills COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES The employee must be able to: Must be able to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE The employee should have the following: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Basic PLC training Must be able to learn the responsibilities of this position. Experience: Preferably five (5) years in a related maintenance trade or occupation that involved electrical or hydraulic machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to demonstrate trouble-shooting techniques. Must have an advanced understanding of electrical and hydraulic circuitry. Must have the ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Must be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervision with drive toward accomplishment, and to produce high quality work. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: Able to do repetitive hand, arm, leg movements for several hours Able to climb on and off of fork truck Ability to stand for 10 - 12 hours straight Able to climb and descend stairs for up to 12 hours continuously Lift and push and pull 40 lbs. More than 100 times per day Must be able to squat, bend at the waist and knees freely Exposure to temperature extremes Exposure to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable Bending and twisting Handle, control or feel objects, tools or control Repetitive movements It is a requirement to be a U.S. citizen OR have valid proof of authorization to work in the United States.
