You’ll operate plant equipment, carry out maintenance activities, and support the day-to-day running of the asphalt plant while helping us deliver high-quality asphalt products and infrastructure solutions for our communities. Mō te tūranga | About the role This is a hands-on role within our busy Queenstown Asphalt Plant, working alongside a knowledgeable and experienced team. You'll receive training across multiple plant functions, gaining experience operating the loader, asphalt plant, and associated equipment. The role offers excellent variety, with daily task rotation and opportunities to develop your technical skills while contributing to safe and efficient plant operations. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Operate the asphalt plant safely and efficiently. Operate the loader and other plant equipment as required. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping activities. Direct on-site truck movements and manage deliveries. Load customers and ensure product quality and accuracy. Support health, safety, and operational excellence across the site. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with Class 2 licence with WTR endorsement (desirable but not essential). Asphalt industry knowledge or experience (desirable but not essential). Confidence working with computers, systems, and numbers. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. A willingness to learn and develop new skills. Mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Commitment to health and safety and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
