What’s on offer?
We are seeking an experienced full-time Civil Operator to join our growing civil business based in Bushells Ridge.
You’ll have experience in operating machinery in a civil construction environment and be driven to support and motivate site teams – ensuring the focus remains on safety, quality, cost and schedule in the planning and execution of work.
We open applications who have boilermaking experience or who are completing their apprenticeship within construction.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of SWMS and participating in daily pre-start meetings to address all site requirements;
  • Management of materials, plant, personnel and subcontractors;
  • Coordinating with the Civil Supervisor to develop and maintain project programs;
  • Utilising your experience to develop and support other team members;
  • Identifying hazards and assessing risk through regular safety audits and environmental risk assessments as per Fulton Hogan procedures;
  • Giving feedback to the Civil Supervisor on individual and team performance, safety, quality and timeliness of work.

How you’ll connect to the role?

  • RII tickets for Excavator (Required), Positrack & Roller (Desirable); or equivalent
  • Proven experience in civil construction, particularly road reconstruction
  • MR / HR license would be desirable;
  • Experience in pipe laying would be desirable;
  • Experience in GPS Operating is desirable
  • Experience in Final trim Operating is desirable
  • We can provide training for the above for the right candidate

The pre-employment process will involve a medical check including drug and alcohol screening. We are an equal opportunity employer and we highly value both gender and cultural diversity in our company.

  • Looking for a company that places people at the heart of everything? Our Living Safely culture ensures that we care for ourselves, each other and the communities that we work in.
  • Keen to progress your career? We invest in our people’s career development and provide pathways in the form of apprenticeships, traineeships, or certificate(s) opportunities. If additional tickets and licenses are required, we can help with that too.
  • Never worked in our industry before? We open new doors for people with transferable skills and experiences, helping them to thrive in the world of infrastructure construction. Where applicable, we provide training and support to help you succeed in the role.
  • Looking to enhance your wellbeing? We offer benefits, including corporate health and fitness programs, health insurance discounts, personal banking support, a range of retailer discounts, and access to our Employee Assistance Program (including your immediate family).
  • Want to help us better the communities we live and work in? Our purpose of creating, connecting, and caring for communities is more than a saying to us – it’s a way of thinking, working, and living because we’re locals too, and seek to give back in ways that strengthen and build resilient communities.

Our people share the same set of values that keep us REAL. Respect, Energy and Effort, Attitude and Leadership are what we stand for at Fulton Hogan and encourage us to foster a diverse and inclusive culture where we listen to, care for, celebrate, and respect everyone.
If our REAL values resonate with you, please submit an application for the position.
If you’re not sure that you meet 100% of the selection criteria, that’s okay, we would still like to hear from you and potentially discuss how your skills could be utilised at Fulton Hogan.
We celebrate and embrace diversity across our business and are committed to equal employment opportunities.
We believe in the value that diversity brings to our team and people who share our REAL values are encouraged to apply.
