DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced and hardworking Asphalt Raker for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in asphalt paving
• Previous experience in the civil construction industry required
• Experience in grading and reading civil/structural drawings preferred
• Ability to operate small engine equipment
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 to 60 pounds
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Willingness to work long hours, including overtime during peak season
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Rake and spread asphalt evenly and efficiently to desired thickness and grade
• Assist with site preparation, demolition, and material removal
• Maintain a clean and organized work site
• Work closely with machine operators to maintain accurate grade levels
• Manually prepare areas inaccessible by machinery
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures
