Assay Lab Technician (Fixed Term)

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assay Lab Supervisor, the Assay Lab Technician will play a vital role in ensuring accurate assay reporting necessary for the Mine and Mill operations at Mt. Milligan. Responsibilities include conducting day-to-day analysis, contributing to the development of methods and procedures, and performing sample collection and onsite laboratory work while maintaining a focus on quality and safety standards.
The position will be on fixed term between September 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

• Flexible in working either collaboratively within a team or independently.
• Proven ability to analyze problems and prioritize issues.
• Prior experience in mine sample preparation is desirable.

• Ensure adherence to site policies, and laboratory procedures.
• Assist in preparing mine and mill samples, including tasks such as Sample Receiving, Sample Drying, Sample Crushing, Sample Pulverizing, and truck sampling.
• Actively identify and report hazards or incidents promptly, aligning with Mt. Milligan’s reporting procedures to facilitate timely resolution and preventive action.
• Maintain exemplary standards of housekeeping within the work area, promoting cleanliness, organization, and safety for all personnel.
• Performs any other responsibilities related to the Assay Lab Technician role as required or as assigned by the department head.
