Assay Lab Technician Musselwhite Mine Orla Mining is striving to be the emerging gold producer of choice with a geographically diversified asset base, a prospective development and exploration portfolio, an experienced management team with a successful track record, and a high-quality board and shareholder base. Orla operates the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico. This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulphide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources. We are also advancing permitting and development on our South Railroad Project, a feasibility-stage, open-pit heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada. This project is part our larger South Carlin Complex which includes a prospective land package. We recently acquired the Musselwhite Mine located in Northern Ontario on Lake Opapimiskan, a gold mine with more than 25 years of operating history. The addition of Musselwhite has allowed Orla to more than double our gold production and provide a strategic entry into a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction. Purpose Reporting to the Assay Lab Supervisor, the Assay Lab Technician is responsible for preparing and analyzing samples from mill, mine, and exploration activities, including wet chemistry and fire assay techniques. Responsibilities include: Prepare samples from mill, mine, and exploration sources. Perform fire assay and atomic absorption analysis for gold and base metals. Conduct wet chemistry testing and prepare calibration standards. Identify deficiencies and collaborate with the Assay Lab Team Supervisor to optimize productivity. Identify process improvements and support innovation in lab operations. Monitor and maintain lab equipment, ensuring quality control. Participate in daily pre-start meetings and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Report safety incidents and support investigations. Wear PPE at all times in Production areas. Conduct workplace inspections including hazard recognition and understanding of ventilation requirements. Understand emergency procedures. Perform other related functions as assigned by the supervisor. Education and Experience: 3 years of experience in an Assay Laboratory. 2 years of fire assay and AA finish experience preferred. Minimum Grade 12 education. Post-secondary diploma in Analytical Chemistry preferred. Experience in bullion analysis is an asset. Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening). Proactive approach to process improvement. Mechanical aptitude is an asset. Working Conditions: The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day. Compensation: The base salary range for this position is CAD$80,000 – $100,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual short term incentive program. The target annual bonus for this position is 10% of base salary, subject to individual and company performance. The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
