Job Details Job Location: Knoxville, IA 50138 Position Type: Full Time Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day (1st) Job Title: Assembler SUMMARY Assembles machines, equipment, and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. Proficiently builds phases of heavy equipment machinery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plans assembly procedures, following specifications and assembly manuals. May also assemble subassemblies for attachment to the final product. Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts. May also inspect paint or finish to ensure quality. Aligns components, bolts and screws them together according to torque specifications. Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers or bearings, and works them to test free movement. Applies decals, company logos, safety warning notices and other items to the finished product. Attaches doors, panels and other machine guarding, and details machine before shipping. Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product. Works in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines. Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED required. 1-2 years related experience and/or training preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION Paint Specific Right-to-Know Training. Weiler Forklift Operating Certificate COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both over the phone and in person. Ability to read, write and comprehend documents and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to display active listening skills and ask the appropriate questions. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
