Assists less experienced assembly employees by providing information, as necessary. Works from blueprints, routed shop orders, set up card data, verbal and written instructions. Able to use ordinary arithmetic such as decimals and fractions, micrometers and fixed gages. Plans and performs required set up of equipment to assemble product. Assembles product in an efficient manner and inspects product to verify that it meets customer specifications, with minimal direction from the supervisor. Identifies and resolves routine and some non-routine issues through effective troubleshooting. As needed, handles incoming and out-going stock. Maintains accurate counts of work in process, components, and sub-assemblies and properly log all rejected parts used during assembly to maintain accurate inventory counts. Communicates effectively with co-workers and internal customers in performing assigned tasks. Assists less experienced assembly employees with more complex issues. Keeps the supervisor aware in a timely manner of any issues needing the supervisor’s involvement. Performs assignments in a timely and efficient manner while meeting customer quality expectations. Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required. Maintains good housekeeping and safety habits. Requirements High school education is required. Has the ability to be proficient after training. Has at least 2 years of experience with the company fully meeting the expectations of an Assembler or one year of successful directly related experience within another company function or organization. Has excellent communications and interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with others to meet customer needs Ability to perform basic math calculations such as decimal/fraction conversions and reading measuring tools. Must have manual dexterity to handle small objects as well as large objects and the ability to maintain mental concentration while performing repetitive work. Must have the ability to maintain mental concentration while performing repetitive work. Has moderate computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs. Can demonstrate moderate analytical and problem-solving abilities to meet the requirements of the position. Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands. High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to customer needs. High level of personal and professional integrity. Is committed to the company’s values. Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
