Kamloops Truss is currently seeking Assembler/Forklift Operator to join our team in Kamloops, BC.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assembler/Forklift Operator position is for an individual who enjoys working and being outdoors, rain or shine. This is a position within our Production department with opportunities for future growth and development. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in our operations by safely and efficiently moving materials and products within our yard, optimizing safety, organization, and efficiency. As an assembler, you will work with a team to pack the manufactured trusses, complete quality assurance, shipping and receiving, and assist in storage organization. We will ensure you are trained and certified to do each job safely and provide you with the tools to do so. QUALIFICATIONS:

· Valid Forklift ticket or equivalent experience.
· Valid Driver’s license.
· Knowledge or experience with NSC and CVSE regulations, as they relate to loading and unloading delivery trucks.

· Follow all safe work procedures and regulations set forth by Kamloops Truss LTD and WorkSafeBC.
· Take part in completing a daily FLHA with Lead hand/Supervisor prior to starting work.
· Daily, Weekly and Monthly forklift maintenance, pre-trip and post trip inspections for all forklifts and hoisting gear (strong back, straps, longs forks).
· Shipping and receiving - confirm all packing slips and shipping documents for accuracy.
· Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
· Organize and ensure truss packages are stored in the yard for safe and efficient access, assist in yard organization to ensure the yard is clean, tidy, and always free from hazards.
· Stack Trusses for delivery as required
· Confirm all components have been accurately produced and packaged for delivery.
· Remove completed truss packages away from stack table when as required.
· Ensure all lumber staging areas are kept fully stocked for production at all times.
· Keep all forklifts stocked with dunnage.
· Seasonal yard maintenance, i.e.: snow removal and sand the yard when required; restock sand/salt.
· Maintain all permanent dunnage in proper locations within the yard.
· Available, when necessary, to assist with general shop duties and regular shop operations as requested.
· Cross training to gain knowledge and experience in all areas of the shop. Provide relief to other production positions as requested.
