Description

Overview An Assembler II must utilize work instructions, blue prints, and spec sheets to assemble and package opto-mechanical products for stock and shipment under the direction of the Assembly Manager or Group Leader. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components and opto-mechanical components using equipment, hand tools, and bench tools. Engraving Application of ink and/or paint to components as required Work with parts lists, drawings, and methods sheets. Work to predetermined standard production rates. Follow written and verbal procedures and recommend changes or corrections to issues within the procedure as needed Use of simple imaging set ups to verify performance of sub-assemblies and finished units. Packing of lenses and completed assemblies Visual inspection of individual subcomponents and completed assemblies Participate in LEAN and 5S+Safety initiatives including light housekeeping of work areas Maintain control of material in assigned work orders. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Functions with minimal direction/supervision according to build schedule. Timeliness and regular attendance are required Must be willing to work overtime as required Perform other similar and related duties as assigned. Ability to use hand tools and bench tools. Ability to use or learn to use a microscope for extended periods of time. Ability to initiate changes to methods sheets, procedures, and specifications. Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and assembly diagrams. Ability to learn to troubleshoot optical-mechanical assemblies. Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time. Ability to work within a clean room and/or a flow booth for extended periods of time. Attention to detail. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of basic optical and/or mechanical principles Other Requirements: Work overtime as required. US Citizenship or permanent residence required. Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Two to four years of electronic, mechanical, or optical assembly experience. Responsibilities

The Assembler II is responsible for assembling and packaging opto-mechanical products according to work instructions and blueprints. They will also conduct visual inspections and participate in safety initiatives.
