POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Supervisor and located 100% on site at 2 Walker Drive, Brampton, Ontario, this position will require to perform various duties for assembling and testing mechanical components and systems for our advanced accessibility and patient care products. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that our wheelchair lifts, stairlifts, elevators, medical beds, and other equipment are built to the highest standards of quality and reliability. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

MINDSET, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Energetic, eager, tenacious!
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications or experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing are advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to perform detailed quality inspections and tests on mechanical assemblies.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for following instructions on a Material Data Sheet, under the direction of the Lead Hand
  • Assemble mechanical/electrical components and systems according to technical specifications, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests of mechanical /electrical assemblies to ensure they meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical /electrical assemblies, identifying and resolving any issues or defects as they arise.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient production processes and timely completion of assembly goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Document assembly processes, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Assist in the development of new assembly techniques and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners to assemble components for final assembly.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.
