Description
The primary function of the Assembler, is to perform winding, assembly, complex and repetitive wiring, and to produce complete sub-assemblies, and final assembly of control equipment. Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies. This department requires physical movement throughout the facility as it relates to mechanical assembly, and obtaining materials through kneeling, bending, squatting, and moving up and down ladders throughout the plant. In this function you will: Work from drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to complete assembly and wiring of control equipment. Determine necessary parts and material and prepares requisition to obtain parts and material from stock. Prepare wire for assembly by cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals/ Operate power tools, including battery powered and compressed air Route out, assembles, wires, adjusts, fits and modifies parts, components, and sub-assemblies to form completed control assembly. Check electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards and makes necessary adjustments and alignment when required. Execute engineering and customer changes and makes repairs as required. Report irregularities or equipment malfunctions to coach and maintain records as required. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 - mile radius of Arden, NC will be considered. Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Mechanical/Electrical background Position Criteria: Able to lift 35 pounds - waist, shoulder, overhead Able to do some lifting, bending, ladder work and other forms of movement.
