BCI Burke Company in Fond du Lac, WI has a full-time Assembly position available on 3rd shift in our Ropes department. 3rd shift hours are 7:30 pm to 6:00 am Monday through Thursday nights Overtime hours are worked on Sunday nights What Moves You? It requires hard work, a lot of innovation and enthusiasm and, of course, an abundance of Purple Passion (def. a love of play, bringing play to communities and specific love of Burke and those you work with)! What you’ll do – Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and part lists; gathers parts, fixtures, tools and materials. Trims the ropes to the appropriate length Sets up machines and equipment Inspects materials Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements Examining connections for correct fit; fastens parts and subassemblies Record and report assembly supply inventory by reporting supply needs Maintains a clean and safe work environment Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to walk and be able to reach with your hands and arms. On a regular basis, we will need you to be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours. Qualifications That Move Us! High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read tape measure Able to operate all powered tools and hand tools in Assembly area Ability to work on their own, detail oriented, mechanically inclined All employees must be able to read, write and speak simple sentences, instructions, and correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Basic to Intermediate Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Teamwork We have an awesome team at Burke and the right individual for this role will fit well within our culture of teamwork, straightforward and open communication.
