POSITION SUMMARY

Under supervision of Assembly Electrical Lead, Electrical technician will be responsible for electrical assemblies and troubleshooting. This position will require forklift and crane training in order to operate this equipment in a shop environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years working as a technician in the manufacturing industry is preferred. May be able to substitute relevant, practical experience in lieu of education

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Able to do electrical assembly on all components.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, measuring tools, power tools and testing equipment for electrical assembly.
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly; self-starter/self-motivated individual.
  • Reads electrical schematics and troubleshooting drawings in order to determine if discrepancies exist before/during the build.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals; and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.

  • Must have full range of body movement.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must maintain confidence and balance while working on ladders up to 12 feet tall.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, equipment, hot materials, moderate to extreme noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Must agree to wear any and all necessary personal protective equipment to include:
  • Eye protection required to reduce risk of injury.
  • Approved footwear required.
  • Ear protection is required.
  • Other PPE as necessary to perform duties

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs electrical/controls builds with very limited guidance.
  • Communicates with Electrical Lead on discrepancies that allow workflow to move forward.
  • Sets micro parameter using computer interface program.
  • Designs and builds electrical harnesses from engineered print.
  • Maintains assembly/electrical parts in an organized manner within the build.
  • Responsible for final electrical checklist, photos, and any final details before the electrical/controls leave the department.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
