JOB OVERVIEW

Under general supervision, this position leads and coordinates a cross-functional working team to solve issues related to the fit of the vehicle. This position is responsible for topics related to the launch of new types of projects and for series production.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3 years in an Engineering role within OEM or Tier 1 Supplier
  • Working knowledge of 3D Modeling Software (Ex. Solidworks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD)
  • Experience using hand-measurement tools (Ex. Calipers or Micrometer)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)Knowledge, usage and application of GD&T (Global Dimensioning & Tolerancing) concepts and the execution of GD&T in production hardware.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of SPC Process Control
  • Previous Experience utilizing CMM Measurements
  • Presentation Skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities on behalf of MBUSI with key partners in PP, AF, RD, and others as needed. Key partners at MBUSI to represent and coordinate with include Body Einführung, Development Liaison (QVS), Production, Process Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), and Quality Management (QM) to ensure the vehicle meets the vehicle inspection standard (VIS). Introduce the critical processes to Assembly related to the Exterior & Interior VIS for new type trials, launch, and ramp-up.
  • Establish, design and document the necessary process control plan to ensure the new type vehicle consistently meets the necessary vehicle inspection standards. Give technical direction to Fit & Function Specialists to execute this system.
  • Analyze product conditions utilizing all available tools such as data sources (e.g. PiWeb, KTMA, CMM Measurements, online measurements) to control the design of the car, incoming quality of supplier parts and the body as well the overall appearance of the interior system of the vehicle. Resolve with the cross-functional working team in case of deviations from defined tolerances.
  • Utilize data consolidation system (Excel/Minitab) to organize and analyze data found. In case of errors, initiate problem-solving activities.
  • Present results of investigations to management for a status update and further direction.
