  • Implement process controls, support technician training, and provide recommendations for resource planning.
  • Escalate and resolve technical issues, including leading 8D problem-solving and readiness reviews.
  • Support production teams by providing engineering solutions and conducting Design of Experiments (DOE) to address production challenges.
  • Lead and advise on process improvement projects to enhance yield, efficiency, and waste reduction.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Optical, Materials, Mechanical or Precision Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry; or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in optical/laser manufacturing, process engineering, or product development, preferably in a cleanroom environment.
  • Proven track record in new product introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacture (DFM), and process development.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning automated test systems and tooling.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments (health, safety, technical/process) and implementing effective process controls.
  • Skilled in using structured problem-solving methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), 8D, and DOE.
  • Demonstrated involvement in process improvement initiatives, including yield enhancement, cycle time reduction, and waste minimization.
  • Experience in high-tech industries such as photonics, optics, electronics, or precision manufacturing, with a preference for optical process development.
  • Customer-facing experience handling technical inquiries and contributing to resource planning.
  • Familiarity with documentation and compliance requirements, including SOPs and quality management systems such as AS9100.
