POSITION SUMMARY

The Assembly Team Member will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor in an assembly department and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include but is not limited to the assembly of products using bolts, screws, clips, velcro, glue, and assorted fasteners, grinding, scraping, sanding, or polishing surfaces using tools or machines, and connecting cables, tubes, wires to complete assemblies. The Assembler will be responsible for the efficient production/assembly or disassembly of products according to established procedures using work orders while following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
  • Critical eye for identifying defects
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform somewhat strenuous physical labor at different times

Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks involving physical labour and operate a variety of hand and power tools
  • Efficient production/assembly or disassembly of products according to established procedures using work orders
  • Disassemble materials from racks and totes when required
  • Work with Line Leaders, Lead Hands, and Supervisors to ensure continuous improvements in production lines and hitting quotas
  • Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair equipment and tools
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies
  • Assist in setting up the production line and help perform inventory control
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams
  • Bolt, screw, glue, clip, fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment
  • Connect cables, tubes, and wires etc. to complete assemblies and installations
  • Position and install parts, subassemblies and accessories using hand and power tools and other aids
  • Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines
  • Painting using brushes or sprays
  • Other duties as assigned
